La Hermandad de San Juan de la Cruz, Patrón de La Carolina, recibirá mañana, día 8 de Octubre, a una peregrinación que ha partido desde California y Arizona (Estados Unidos de América) y cuyo deseo expreso es visitar La Peñuela y a San Juan de la Cruz en La Carolina. Dicha peregrinación de miembros del Carmelo Seglar viene encabezada por el P. Paul koenig OCD.
A las 9 de la mañana celebrarán la Eucaristía en la Parroquia de la Inmaculada Concepción, donde la Hermandad los recibirá. Tras la Santa Misa tendrán una Hora Santa ante el Santísimo. Finalizados los cultos en la Parroquia, visitarán los lugares que recuerdan el paso del santo Doctor de la Iglesia en nuestra ciudad. A su llegada a la Ermita, tendrán un encuentro con los miembros de la Junta de Gobierno de la Hermandad Patronal para compartir e informarles de nuestras actividades cotidianas y aspectos de interés sobre el culto genuino que La Carolina viene dispensando a San Juan de la Cruz desde el primer instante fundacional de la Hermandad.
Es un orgullo para esta Hermandad que las diferentes peregrinaciones que hemos ido recibiendo, desde Francia, desde la provincia.... sirvan para poner en valor las profundas raíces sanjuanistas de nuestra ciudad. De esta forma, atraviesan las fronteras de nuestra nación, y la singularidad de nuestra historia sanjuanista incardina a La Carolina en el mapa mundial, constituyendo un gran motor cultural, turístico y devocional sobre San Juan de la Cruz para todo el orbe católico que mira a La Peñuela como un lugar indispensable en la vida del santo, auténtico santuario de culto y matriz de devoción.

This
Jubilee Year marks the celebration of the 500 anniversary of the
birth of OHM St. Teresa of Jesus, a great mystic, Doctor of the
Church and the reformer of the Order of Carmel. This year’s
celebration has a particular significance for us Carmelites and for
the entire world. It is the Year of Consecrated Life decreed by our
Holy Father, Pope Francis. Indeed it is a fitting celebration of
thanksgiving to God for the gift of St. Teresa’s life and charism ,
and gratefulness for the many men and women who continuously
sacrifice themselves for the Church and for humanity.
We,
the sons and daughters of St. Teresa invite you to join us on a
pilgrimage of history and take part of this global celebration of the
Carmelite family by retracing her roots, her birthplace, her
homeland, where she spent most of her life witnessing her loving
intimacy with God in a life of prayer, and the foundations she
established throughout her lifetime that continue to bear fruit even
to the span of 500 years!
Please
prayerfully go over the itinerary asking the help of Our Lady of
Carmel and
St.
Joseph with the intercessions of St. Teresa and St. John of the
Cross. Join our worldwide celebration of events in whatever way you
can but especially by following in her footsteps that hopefully will
lead us to the core of the Centenary celebration -- to our hearts
where the living and true God dwells.
